Linux open source is reliable.
Linux basic code, even though its dimension has remarkably grown, is still one of the most reliable softwares. It’s the conclusion to which has come a study of Coverity company (San Francisco, www.coverity.com), which develops source code analysis tools. The study shows that the most recent version of Linux kernel is exempt from major defects (it had 6 defect in its December 2004 version).
