Google Earth, protests from India
President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, during a summit meeting with Indian Police on 16th October 2005, expressed his concern about the fact that Google, through its satellite mapping services Google Earth e Google Map, has placed at everyone’s disposal high resolution satellite maps of India and other developing countries under the menace of international terrorism. “Google site contains clear aerial pictures of Indian parliament, president’s building and government area in New Delhi” Kalam declared. Google’s spokesperson Debbie Frosty replied that The Company in Mountain View is open to consider government worries and complaints as far as security is concerned.
