The Nokia N95 seems to be the definitive smartphone for Geeks. Usually i don't review hardware and gadgets on my blog but this jewel has some functionalities that could make it the perfect tool for Bloggers and micropublishers. Take a look:
- OS Symbian
- Embedded hsdpa and wifi connectivity
- 5 Mpix photocamera
- Videocamera (DVD quality)
- Hires display
Having OS Symbian onboard really means dispose of a true mobile computer, therefore dispose of a large software library and additional functionalities for mobiles.

It's perfect for the Internet: Hsdpa and wifi connectivity will let you stay connected whenever you need. Hsdpa connection (3,6Mbit / sec max) may be is the only mobile connection comparable with conventional ADSL lines. The wi-fi embedded into the N95 will allow you to use available hotspot (in airport, wireless modem, hotels etc) without using your mobile operator network to stay connected.
The Nokia N95 is able to switch automatically to 3G, Umts or GPRS network in case of hsdpa lack connectivity.
Embedded media features (Video and photo)
The MiniSD expansion slot can increase the storage up to 2 Gigabyte, in this way the N95 can be used to store a large amount of media (hi-res photos and long time videos). Videocamera has DVD quality: 30 fps (frame-per-second).

The N95 is also Java enabled and can be used with a large number of mobile VoIP applications such as Truphone which allows free calls to landlines and mobile phones using available hotspot and access point.Let's pass over others functionalities (radio, MP3 Player, TV Out, etc) but let's not forget the GPS navigator with embedded maps. The price is a litte bit expansive: 800 euros.
